Botswana Safaris

Private Botswana Safari

Exclusive, low-impact safaris across pristine wilderness, where space, privacy, and exceptional wildlife define the experience.

Why Choose Botswana

Botswana is renowned for its high-quality, low-volume approach to tourism. This means fewer vehicles, more space, and a safari experience that feels private and unhurried.

The Okavango Delta, one of the world’s most unique ecosystems, transforms the landscape into a network of channels, lagoons, and islands, creating exceptional opportunities for both land and water-based wildlife viewing.

Game viewing is consistently outstanding, with strong populations of elephant, lion, leopard, and wild dog. Combined with beautifully designed camps and some of Africa’s finest guiding, Botswana offers a safari that is both immersive and effortlessly comfortable.

Key Safari Areas in Botswana

Explore Botswana’s most iconic safari regions, where pristine waterways, vast wilderness, and exceptional wildlife encounters define one of Africa’s most exclusive safari destinations.

Okavango Delta

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Okavango Delta is a maze of waterways and islands, offering a unique mix of game drives, mokoro excursions, and walking safaris. It is one of the most diverse and visually stunning safari destinations in Africa.

Linyanti & Chobe

Known for its large elephant herds and excellent predator sightings, this region offers quieter, more exclusive safari experiences. The presence of permanent water attracts wildlife year-round, making it particularly rewarding during the dry season.

Central Kalahari

Vast, remote, and starkly beautiful, the Central Kalahari offers a completely different safari experience. Open landscapes, dramatic skies, and unique desert-adapted wildlife make it ideal for travellers seeking something more off the beaten track.

A Private Safari Experience in Botswana

Every safari is tailored, unhurried, and designed entirely around you.

Your days begin with the soft light of dawn and the quiet anticipation of what lies ahead. Whether heading out on a morning game drive across open floodplains or gliding silently through the channels of the Okavango Delta, each experience is shaped around your pace and interests.

As the day unfolds, time slows. Long, uninterrupted sightings, vast open landscapes, and the absence of crowds create a safari that feels deeply private and immersive. From watching elephants gather along the Chobe River to tracking predators across the Linyanti, every moment is unhurried and deeply connected to the rhythm of the wild.

Evenings are equally memorable, sundowners overlooking endless wilderness, lantern-lit dinners under the stars, and the distant sounds of the bush completing the experience. This is safari as it was meant to be: refined, exclusive, and profoundly connected to nature.

When to Visit Botswana

Botswana offers exceptional safari experiences throughout the year, with each season bringing its own unique character, from peak wildlife viewing in the dry months to lush landscapes and dramatic skies during the green season.

Dry Season (May – October)

The dry season is widely regarded as the best time for wildlife viewing in Botswana. As seasonal water sources disappear, animals concentrate around permanent rivers and lagoons, particularly in the Okavango Delta and Linyanti regions. This results in more consistent and often more dramatic sightings, with predators and prey drawn into closer proximity.

Vegetation becomes thinner, improving visibility, and conditions are ideal for game drives. Temperatures are cooler in the early months, gradually warming towards October, when wildlife densities can be at their highest. This is peak safari season and offers some of the most rewarding and reliable game viewing in Africa.

Green Season (November – March)

With the arrival of the rains, Botswana transforms into a lush, vibrant wilderness. The landscape becomes green and full of life, with dramatic skies, fresh vegetation, and an abundance of young animals. This is an exceptional time for photography and birding, with migratory species arriving and the scenery at its most striking.

While wildlife disperses slightly due to the availability of water, the experience becomes quieter and more intimate, with fewer visitors and excellent value. Afternoon storms are common but often short-lived, adding to the atmosphere rather than detracting from the experience.

Flood Season (June – August in the Delta)

Unique to Botswana, the Okavango Delta floods during the dry winter months as water flows down from Angola into the Delta system. This creates a remarkable contrast, with clear blue water filling channels and lagoons while surrounding areas remain dry.

This is the best time to experience Botswana’s iconic water-based activities, including mokoro excursions and boat safaris. Wildlife gathers along the water’s edge, and the Delta becomes a serene, immersive environment where movement through the landscape feels quiet and effortless. It is one of the most distinctive safari experiences in Africa.
